TaylorMade introduces the Qi4D driver series with four models designed for maximum speed and compatibility, offering detailed features for increased ball velocity.
TaylorMade is bringing new momentum and pace with the Qi4D drivers. Designed for maximum speed, these new models impress with high aerodynamic efficiency and extensive adjustment options. Four distinct models cater to different playing and swing types.
New Face Technology and Aerodynamic Refinements
The Qi4D drivers are TaylorMade’s fastest and most adaptable drivers yet. Their foundation is newly developed carbon faces which generate more efficient ball speed compared to titanium, while also being more durable and robust. Improved roll radii on the face help reduce spin rate deviations, regardless of whether the ball is struck higher or lower on the face.
An advanced Cut-Through Speed Pocket™, designed using finite element analysis (FEA), increases the flexibility of the lower face area. This creates an expanded high-performance zone that stabilizes ball speed across typical impact areas. This is complemented by a corrective face curvature. Additionally, the aerodynamics of the heads have been optimized with finely tuned shapes, smooth transitions, and subtle integrated structures that promote clean airflow throughout the swing.
TaylorMade Qi4D Drivers: Customization through Shafts and Adjustment Systems
A key feature of the Qi4D series is a high degree of customization. All models are equipped with a 4° loft sleeve allowing for adjustments of loft, lie angle and face angle.
Additionally, specially developed REAX shafts are used. These cater to three different swing characteristics (Hold, Balance, and Active) and come in various flex and weight classes. This allows standard shafts to be finely tuned to different player types.
Model Overview: Four Drivers with Distinct Focus Areas
Qi4D
The base model utilizes a four-weight system with movable TAS weights (9 g x 2 / 4 g x 2). Depending on placement, ball speed, stability, forgiveness, and draw or fade tendencies can be influenced. Heavier weights in the front promote higher ball speeds, while rear placement enhances stability.
Qi4D LS
The Qi4D LS is optimized for maximum speed and particularly low spin. Numerical fluid dynamic simulations were used to aerodynamically optimize the head shape for the smoothest airflow and clean separation at the club’s rear. Two TAS weights (15 g and 4 g) enable precise adjustment of spin and trajectory.
Qi4D Max
The Qi4D Max prioritizes forgiveness without sacrificing speed. The use of aluminum reduces weight and provides additional tuning options. Two movable TAS weights (13 g and 4 g) allow flexible center of gravity adjustments between more ball speed or greater stability.
Qi4D Max Lite
The Qi4D Max Lite adopts the technologies of the Max model, but with a deliberately lightweight design. The head, shaft, and grip are the lightest in the series, targeting golfers aiming to increase clubhead speed.
