TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Gen Game-Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons combine distance, forgiveness, and design for game-improvement golfers. Details on the latest models.

TaylorMade presents the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, showcasing a new generation of game-improvement irons designed to enhance distance, forgiveness, feel, and sound while also addressing aesthetic preferences and player needs.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation of Game-Improvement Irons

A key development focus was the clubface. Due to its asymmetrical design with a higher toe than heel, many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly at impact. This can cause additional cut spin and shots that fly right on toe strikes. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a clubface engineered to bend more evenly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter ball flights at high ball speeds.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements

Besides pure performance, feel was a crucial factor. Both models incorporate a sound stabilization bar connecting the back bar to the topline, which stabilizes the topline and reduces unwanted noises at impact.

The ECHO damping system material has been positioned higher in the clubface to reduce vibrations and create a solid sound without losing impact feedback. Individually optimized faces and new internal structures further support ball speed and consistent distance.

Two Designs for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset with a smooth hosel transition. The FLTD CG positions a low center of gravity in long irons for high launch and strong stopping power, shifting higher in short irons to aid distance control. Speed Pockets in irons 4 through 8 maintain ball speed on low hits.

The Qi Max HL irons focus on maximum forgiveness, with a larger head profile, higher faces, wider soles, and thicker toplines enhancing stability and confidence. Lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips, making them ideal for players with slower swing speeds by improving clubhead speed, launch, and stopping control.

Fresh Design for Qi Max and Qi Max HL Irons

Both iron models sport a bright, monochrome design inspired by the P-Series. Available in steel shafts at €183 per iron and graphite shafts at €200 per iron, pre-orders open January 8, 2026, with in-store availability starting January 29, 2026.
