Discover the new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, offering distance, forgiveness, and sleek design for all skill levels.

TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, a new generation of game-improvement irons designed to enhance distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel while also appealing to aesthetic preferences.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: The New Generation of Game-Improvement Irons

A key development focus was the clubface. Its asymmetrical design, with a higher toe than heel, often causes uneven deformation on impact in many game-improvement irons, leading to extra cut spin and shots veering right when struck near the toe. The Qi Max models feature a clubface engineered to bend more evenly, resulting in more stable ball launches, straighter ball flight, and higher ball speeds.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements

Beyond performance, feel was a crucial aspect. Both models include a sound stabilizing bar connecting the back bar to the topline, stabilizing the topline and reducing unwanted impact noises. Additionally, the ECHO damping system material has been moved higher in the face, reducing vibrations and delivering a solid sound without sacrificing impact feedback. Custom-optimized faces and new internal structures further boost speed and consistent distance.

Two Designs for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset with a seamless hosel transition. Using FLTD CG technology, the center of gravity is especially low on long irons to provide high launch and strong stopping power, shifting higher on short irons to aid distance control. The 4 to 8 irons have Speed Pocket technology for stable ball speeds on lower-face strikes.

Conversely, the Qi Max HL irons prioritize maximum forgiveness, with larger clubheads, higher faces, thicker soles, and toplines for added stability and confidence. Their lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max irons, combined with ultra-lightweight heads, shafts, and grips, ideally suited for players with slower swing speeds, enhancing clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping ability simultaneously.

Modern Design and Availability

Both iron models sport a bright, monochromatic design inspired by the P-Series. Available in steel shafts at 183 euros per iron and graphite shafts at 200 euros per iron, pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with availability in stores from January 29, 2026.
