TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Gen Game-Improvement Irons Unveiled

TaylorMade presents the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, combining distance, forgiveness, and design in this next-gen game-improvement set.

TaylorMade introduces the Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, a new generation of game-improvement clubs engineered to boost distance, forgiveness, and provide enhanced sound and feel, addressing both performance and aesthetic demands.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation Game-Improvement Irons

A key development focus was the clubface. Typically asymmetrical with a higher toe than heel, many game-improvement irons deform unevenly at impact, causing cut-spin and shots veering right on toe strikes. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL feature a redesigned face that bends more uniformly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter ball flights with high ball speed.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Innovations

Besides pure performance, feel is crucial. Both models integrate a sound stabilizer bar connecting the rear bar to the topline, stabilizing it and reducing unwanted impact noises. The ECHO damping system material has been moved higher in the face, reducing vibrations for a solid sound without sacrificing impact feedback. Optimized clubfaces and new internal structures enhance speed and consistent distance.

Two Designs for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design with thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset for a seamless hosel transition. FLTD CG positions the center of gravity low in long irons for higher launch and stopping power, moving it higher in short irons for better distance control. The Speed Pocket in irons 4-8 maintains ball speed on low strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons emphasize maximum forgiveness with larger clubhead profiles, taller faces, and wider soles and toplines to boost stability and confidence. Their lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, and combined with ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips, they are ideal for players with slower swing speeds, enhancing clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping ability.

A New Look for the Qi Max and Qi Max HL Irons

Both iron models feature a bright, monochrome design inspired by the P-Series. Available with steel shafts at €183 and graphite shafts at €200 per iron, pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with availability in stores from January 29, 2026.
