Titleist Unveils New Pro V1x Left Dash Golf Ball for Longer, Controlled Shots

Titleist introduces the Pro V1x Left Dash, a new option focused on length and controlled ball flight.

Originally launched in 2018 as a specialized solution for select long hitters on the PGA Tour, the Pro V1x Left Dash has become an integral part of the Titleist ball family. Now, the model is receiving an update after four years of development. According to Titleist, the new Pro V1x Left Dash, available worldwide from January 21, 2026, promises increased speed, longer flight, and greater stability in the wind, validated by professional players across various tours.

Titleist’s New Edition: Advanced Core and Flight Characteristics

At the heart of the new Pro V1x Left Dash is an enhanced High-Gradient Dual Core, which Titleist claims is more elastic and delivers higher ball speed. This is complemented by a thicker mantle layer that reduces spin on full shots, while a thinner urethane cover maintains the soft feel around the greens. For flight performance, Titleist utilizes a new dimple design featuring 348 tetrahedral dimples, designed to promote a more consistent and efficient ball flight.

Development Journey of the Left Dash

The origins of the Left Dash date back to 2018 as a custom solution for select tour professionals. The ball was tested and refined over several years, with a non-linear development path. Early prototypes hit the PGA Tour in 2023 but showed excessive spin on short irons, prompting Titleist to return to the drawing board. The redesign focused on what made the Left Dash unique initially: low spin, exceptional length, and a stable, high ball flight. Positioned between the Pro V1 and Pro V1x within the Pro V1 family, the Left Dash’s name is derived from the side marking “–Pro V1x,” distinguishing it clearly. Internal fitting data from Titleist indicate the model is recommended for approximately six to eight percent of users.
