Titleist Launches New Pro V1x Left Dash Golf Ball with Enhanced Performance

Titleist introduces the Pro V1x Left Dash, designed for players seeking distance and controlled ball flight.

Originally launched in 2018 as a specialized solution for select long hitters on the PGA Tour, the Pro V1x Left Dash has become a staple in the Titleist ball family. Now, this model receives an update after four years of development, with a worldwide release set for January 21, 2026. The ball is engineered to be faster, fly longer, and remain more stable in windy conditions, validated by players across various professional tours.

Titleist’s New Edition: Enhanced Core and Flight Characteristics

The new Pro V1x Left Dash features an advanced High-Gradient Dual Core, which is more elastic according to the manufacturer, delivering increased ball speed. This is complemented by a thicker mantle layer that reduces spin on full shots, and a thinner urethane cover for optimal feel around the greens. Additionally, Titleist employs a new dimple design with 348 tetrahedral patterns to promote a more consistent and efficient ball flight.

Development Journey and Positioning

The Left Dash’s origins date back to 2018 when it was first developed as a bespoke solution for selected tour professionals, undergoing extensive testing and refinement over the years. Early prototypes debuted on the PGA Tour in 2023 but exhibited excessive spin with short irons. Taking that feedback, Titleist revisited the design to focus on the key attributes that define the Left Dash: low spin, significant distance, and a stable, high trajectory. This positions the Left Dash uniquely within the Pro V1 family, as an option between the Pro V1 and Pro V1x. The name “Left Dash” derives from the side marking “–Pro V1x” distinguishing it from the other models and has become a popular recommendation in fitting circles. According to internal Titleist fitting data, it is recommended for approximately six to eight percent of players worldwide.
