The 2025 season comes to an end. We look back at the year’s greatest highlight shots and remember the unique events of 2025 – the year in review.
As the 2025 season wraps up, it’s time to reflect. From the European team’s Ryder Cup victory and Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam to many more highlights, there is much to remember this year. Often, the spotlight is on the victories rather than the individual shots that led to these successes. Yet the shots themselves are often as spectacular as the achievements. This year, too, delivered legendary shots that players and fans alike will recall for a long time.
Rory McIlroy’s Hole 15 at the Masters
Arguably the most legendary shot of the year came at the Masters’ 15th hole. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot veered slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green before his second shot on this Par 5. While most players would have aimed to improve position to secure par, McIlroy took a full-risk shot with a massive draw towards the green, landing just beside the flag. This shot not only showcased the Northern Irishman’s skill but also his incredible determination this year to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open
Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the world, with the US Open being a tournament where a round under par gives a real shot at the title. All the more incredible was Patrick Reed’s 4th hole at this year’s US Open. On the 568-meter Par-5, he used his fairway wood for his second shot from 261 meters and holed the ball for an albatross. Only the fourth time in US Open history and the very first at Oakmont.
