The 2025 season is coming to an end. We look back at the biggest highlight shots of the year and remember the unique events of 2025 – The Year in Review.
As the 2025 season concludes, it is time to look back. With the European team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there is much to remember from this year. Often, people do not think about the individual shots that led to these successes. Yet, the shots can be just as spectacular as the achievements themselves. This year again, there were legendary shots that players and fans will remember for a long time.
Rory McIlroy’s Shot at the 15th Hole at the Masters
Probably the most legendary shot of the year came this year at the 15th hole of the Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot went slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on this par 5. While most players would have played it safe to get into a better position to save par, McIlroy took full risk and hit a massive draw towards the green, landing the ball just next to the flag. A shot that showed not only the Northern Irishman’s skill but also his incredible determination this year to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open
Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the world, and the US Open is a tournament where a round under par already gives you a chance to win. Even more incredible was Patrick Reed’s fourth hole at this year’s US Open. On the 568-meter par-5, he took his fairway wood for his second shot and holed it from 261 meters for an albatross. Only the fourth time in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
