2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Remarkable Shots of the Year

The 2025 season is coming to an end. We look back on the year’s greatest highlight shots and the unique moments of 2025 in this year in review.

As the 2025 season concludes, it is time to reflect. With the European Team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there is plenty to remember from this year. Often, one does not focus on the individual shots that led to these successes, yet these shots can be just as spectacular. This year was no different, with legendary shots that fans and players alike will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Shot on No. 15 at the Masters

The most legendary shot of the year likely came on the 15th hole at the Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot veered slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on this par-5 hole. While most players would have played safely to secure par, McIlroy took full risk, hitting a massive draw toward the green, landing the ball just next to the flag. This shot showcased his skill and incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam in 2025.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the U.S. Open

Oakmont is considered one of the toughest golf courses in the world, and the U.S. Open is held on a course where shooting under par is already a challenge for a title. Even more incredible was Patrick Reed’s second shot on the 568-meter par-5 4th hole during this year’s U.S. Open. Using his fairway wood from 261 meters, he holed out for an albatross—only the fourth in U.S. Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
