2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Remarkable Shots of the Year

The 2025 season comes to a close. We look back at the greatest highlight shots and unforgettable moments of the year – the annual review.

As the 2025 season ends, it’s time to reflect. With the European team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many more highlights, there are plenty of moments to remember. Rarely do we think about the individual shots that led to these successes, yet many were as spectacular as the victories themselves. This year again brought legendary shots that both players and fans will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Hole 15 at The Masters

Perhaps the most legendary shot of the year came at the 15th hole at The Masters. McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg after 14 holes. His tee shot drifted left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on this par-5 hole. While most players would have played it safe to improve position and secure par, McIlroy took a risk, hitting a massive draw toward the green and landing the ball close to the pin. This shot not only showcased his skill but also his incredible determination to finally win The Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at US Open

Oakmont is renowned as one of the toughest golf courses worldwide, and the US Open is a tournament where scoring under par can be vital for victory. Patrick Reed’s unbelievable shot on the fourth hole at the 2025 US Open was remarkable. On the 568-meter par-5, Reed used his fairway wood for his second shot and holed it from 261 meters for an albatross — only the fourth in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
