The 2025 golf season is ending. We look back at the year’s most spectacular shots and unforgettable moments – the annual review.
As the 2025 season draws to a close, it’s time to reflect on the year’s biggest moments. From the European team’s Ryder Cup victory to Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam and numerous other highlights, there is much to remember. Often, the individual shots leading to these successes are overlooked, yet they are often as spectacular as the victories themselves. This year offered legendary shots that will be remembered by players and fans alike for a long time.
Rory McIlroy’s No. 15 at the Masters
Perhaps the most legendary shot of the year came at the Masters’ 15th hole. After 14 holes, McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot veered slightly left, placing a tree between him and the green for his second shot on the par-5. While most players would have played it safe to secure par, McIlroy took a full-risk draw shot that landed just beside the pin, demonstrating not only his skill but his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at US Open
Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses globally, and scoring under par in a round at the US Open is a rare achievement. Even more incredible was Patrick Reed’s shot on the 568-meter par-5 4th hole this year. Using his fairway wood for his second shot from 261 meters, Reed holed an albatross, only the fourth in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
