2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Remarkable Shots of the Year

The 2025 season is coming to an end. We look back at the biggest highlight shots and unforgettable moments of the year – the annual review.

As the 2025 season wraps up, it’s time to reflect. With the European team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there’s plenty to remember. Rarely do we think about the individual shots leading to these triumphs, yet these shots are often as spectacular as the achievements themselves. This year, there were once again legendary shots that players and fans will remember for a long time to come.

Rory McIlroy’s Hole 15 at the Masters

Probably the most legendary shot of the year came on the 15th hole at the Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot drifted slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green on the par-5 hole. While most players might have played it safe to secure par, McIlroy took full risk with a big draw towards the green and landed the ball just next to the flag. This shot demonstrated not only his skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is known as one of the most challenging golf courses worldwide, and the US Open a tournament where a round under par gives a real shot at the title. Even more incredible was Patrick Reed’s play on the 4th hole at this year’s US Open. On the 568-meter par-5, he used his fairway wood for his second shot and holed it from 261 meters for an albatross. It was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
