The 2025 season is coming to an end. Let’s look back on this year’s greatest golf shots and memorable moments – The Year in Review.
As the 2025 season closes, it’s time to reflect. With the European team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there is much to remember this year. Rarely do we think about the individual shots that led to these successes, though these shots are often as spectacular as the victories themselves. This year again featured legendary shots that players and fans alike will remember for a long time.
Rory McIlroy’s Hole 15 at the Masters
Probably the most legendary shot of the year came at the 15th hole of the Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot veered slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on the par-5. While most players would have played conservatively to save par, McIlroy took a full-risk draw shot toward the green, landing the ball close to the pin. This shot showcased not only the Northern Irishman’s skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam in 2025.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open
Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the world, and the US Open is a tournament where a round under par can already give you a shot at the title. Even more incredible was Patrick Reed’s play on the 4th hole at this year’s US Open. On the 568-meter par-5, Reed took his fairway wood for his second shot and holed it from 261 meters for an albatross. It was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
