2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Remarkable Golf Shots

The 2025 golf season is coming to a close. We look back at the biggest highlight shots and unforgettable moments of the year – the annual review.

As the 2025 season ends, it’s time to look back. From the European Team’s Ryder Cup triumph to Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam and many other highlights, there is much to remember. Often overlooked are the individual shots that led to these successes, yet these shots can be as spectacular as the victories themselves. This year, there were again legendary shots that players and fans alike will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Shot on 15 at the Masters

Perhaps the most legendary shot of the year came at the 15th hole of the Masters. After 14 holes, McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His drive went slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green on this par 5 hole. While most players would play conservatively to secure par, McIlroy took a full-risk shot with a massive draw towards the green, landing the ball just beside the flag. This shot not only showcased McIlroy’s skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is known as one of the most challenging golf courses in the world, and the US Open is a tournament where rounds under par are rare for contenders. Patrick Reed’s remarkable shot on the par-5 4th hole at this year’s US Open was nothing short of incredible. On this 568-meter hole, Reed used his fairway wood for his second shot and holed it from 261 meters for an albatross. It was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
