2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Unbelievable Golf Shots of the Year

The 2025 season is coming to an end. Let’s look back at the biggest highlight shots of the year and remember the unique moments of 2025 – the year in review.

As the 2025 season wraps up, it’s time to reflect. From the European Team’s Ryder Cup victory and Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam to many other highlights, there’s plenty to recall. Often, we don’t think about the individual shots that led to these successes, but the shots can be just as spectacular as the victories themselves. This year again featured legendary shots that players and fans will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Hole 15 Shot at the Masters

Possibly the most legendary shot of the year happened at hole 15 of the Masters. Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg after 14 holes. His tee shot drifted slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on the par-5 hole. While most players would play it safe to set up for par, McIlroy swung with full risk, hitting a massive draw toward the green to land just beside the pin. This shot not only showed the Northern Irishman’s skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete his Career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is one of the toughest golf courses worldwide, and the US Open is a tournament where even a round under par offers a chance to win. The fourth hole played by Patrick Reed at this year’s US Open was incredible. On the 568-meter par-5, he used his fairway wood for the second shot and holed it from 261 meters away for an albatross. This was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
