Year in Review 2025: The Most Spectacular and Remarkable Golf Shots

The 2025 season is coming to an end. We look back at the biggest highlight shots of the year and remember the unique events of 2025 – The Year in Review.

As the 2025 season concludes, it’s time to reflect. From the European team’s Ryder Cup victory and Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam to many other highlights, there are plenty of moments to remember. Rarely do we focus on the individual shots that led to these successes, yet those shots are often as spectacular as the achievements themselves. This year once again brought legendary shots that players and fans alike will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Shot on Hole 15 at the Masters

Perhaps the most legendary shot of the year came on the 15th hole at the Masters. Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg after 14 holes. His tee shot veered slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on this par-5. While most players would have played safe to improve position and aim for par, McIlroy took a full-risk shot with a huge draw towards the green, landing the ball just next to the flagstick. This shot showed not only McIlroy’s skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes History with Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the world, and the US Open is a tournament where a round under par can already give a chance at the title. Patrick Reed’s remarkable shot on the 4th hole at this year’s US Open was even more incredible. On the 568-meter par-5, Reed used his fairway wood for his second shot and holed it from 261 meters for an albatross. It was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
