After strong performances in Bahrain and California, Schott and Jäger climb the World Rankings as the top positions also shift.
Following the tournament weekend featuring the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship of the DP World Tour in Bahrain and the Farmers Insurance Open of the PGA Tour in Southern California, there has been notable movement in the official World Rankings. After a tense finale at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf (Düsseldorfer Golf Club) emerged as the tournament winner.
With his victory, Schott jumped an impressive 94 places from 103rd to 9th on the Race to Dubai list. On the World Rankings, Schott also climbed over 200 spots: he was ranked 436th at the start of last week and had only slightly improved compared to 2025. Following his glorious win in Bahrain, Schott now sits at 195th place, breaking into the top 200. Close in the rankings is Nicolai von Dellingshausen, also from Düsseldorf but rooted at Golf Club Hubbelrath, currently at 192nd with no change compared to the previous week.
Jäger Also Climbs the World Rankings – Movement at the Top
At the Farmers Insurance Open of the PGA Tour, Stephan Jäger began his surge on Saturday and ultimately secured a tie for 5th place on Sunday with 15 under par. The 36-year-old from Munich ascended into the top 100 of the World Rankings. With 22 places gained, Jäger is now ranked 99th, close behind the best German player Matti Schmid, who is 98th and finished T56 at the Farmers Insurance Open. The two players are separated by only 0.0216 points.
There was movement at the top of the World Rankings as well. Englishman Justin Rose’s win at the Farmers Insurance Open saw him rise seven spots from 10th to 3rd on the leaderboard, while Tommy Fleetwood dropped from 3rd to 4th. Englishman Russell Henley and Scotsman Robert MacIntyre each slipped one place. Rose now trails second-placed Rory McIlroy and the untouchable number one Scottie Scheffler, who holds an 8.5 point lead over the Northern Irishman.
