Schott and Jäger Climb the World Rankings After Strong Performances

After strong performances in Bahrain and California, Schott and Jäger climb the world rankings as the top spots shift.

Following the tournament weekend with the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship of the DP World Tour in Bahrain and the Farmers Insurance Open of the PGA Tour in Southern California, there has been significant movement in the official world rankings. After a thrilling finale at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf (Düsseldorfer Golf Club) emerged as the tournament winner.

With his victory, Schott jumped 94 places from 103rd to 9th on the Race to Dubai leaderboard. He also improved over 200 places in the world rankings: At the start of last week, he was ranked 436th and had seen only slight improvement compared to 2025. After his glorious win in Bahrain, Schott now stands at 195th, putting him inside the top 200. Close to him in the rankings is Nicolai von Dellingshausen, also from Düsseldorf but affiliated with Golf Club Hubbelrath, currently ranked 192nd with no change from the previous week.

Jäger also Climbs the World Rankings – Movement at the Top

At the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour, Stephan Jäger began his charge on Saturday and secured a tied 5th place on the final Sunday with 15 under par. The 36-year-old from Munich entered the top 100 of the world rankings as a result, rising 22 spots to 99th. He is now closely trailing the top German player, Matti Schmid, who is ranked 98th and finished tied 56th at the Farmers Insurance Open. Currently, only 0.0216 points separate the two players.

There was also movement at the upper ranks of the world rankings. Following the win of Englishman Justin Rose at the Farmers Insurance Open, Tommy Fleetwood dropped from 3rd to 4th place. Rose climbed seven spots from 10th to 3rd. Englishman Russell Henley and Scotsman Robert MacIntyre each fell one place. Justin Rose now ranks just behind second-ranked Rory McIlroy and the untouchable number 1 Scottie Scheffler, who holds approximately an 8.5 point lead over the Northern Irishman.
