Schott and Jäger Climb the Official World Golf Rankings After Strong Performances

After strong performances in Bahrain and California, Schott and Jäger climb the world golf rankings as the leaderboard also shifts.

Following the tournament weekend with the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour in Bahrain and the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour in Southern California, notable shifts have occurred on the official World Golf Rankings. After an intense finale at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf (Düsseldorfer Golf-Club) emerged as the tournament winner.

With his victory, Schott jumped an impressive 94 places from 103rd to 9th in the Race to Dubai rankings. On the World Golf Rankings, he surged over 200 spots: at the start of last week, he was ranked 436th and had only slightly improved since 2025. After his glorious win in Bahrain, Schott now ranks 195th, placing him within the top 200. Nearby on the rankings is Nicolai von Dellingshausen, also from Düsseldorf but originally from Golf Club Hubbelrath, currently holding 192nd place without changes from the previous week.

Jäger Also Advances on the World Golf Rankings – Shifts at the Top

At the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour, Stephan Jäger launched a comeback on Saturday and secured a tied 5th place on the final Sunday with 15 strokes under par. The 36-year-old from Munich rose into the top 100 of the World Golf Rankings. Gaining 22 positions, Jäger now sits at 99th place, closely following the best German player, Matti Schmid, who is currently 98th and finished T56 at the Farmers Insurance Open. They are separated by a mere 0.0216 points.

Changes also occurred among the top ranks of the World Golf Rankings. With his victory at the Farmers Insurance Open, Englishman Justin Rose moved up seven places from 10th to 3rd, pushing Tommy Fleetwood down from 3rd to 4th. Englishman Russell Henley and Scotsman Robert MacIntyre each slipped one spot. Justin Rose now trails second-placed Rory McIlroy and the untouchable No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who holds about an 8.5-point lead over the Northern Irishman.
