After strong performances in Bahrain and California, Schott and Jäger rise in the Official World Golf Rankings as top positions shift.
Following the tournament weekend featuring the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship of the DP World Tour in Bahrain and the Farmers Insurance Open of the PGA Tour in Southern California, there was notable movement in the official World Golf Rankings. After a tense finale at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf (Düsseldorfer Golf-Club) claimed the tournament victory.
With his win, Schott climbed an impressive 94 places from 103rd to 9th in the Race to Dubai standings. He also surged over 200 positions in the Official World Golf Rankings: at the start of last week, he was ranked 436th and had made only minimal progress compared to his 2025 position. Following his glorious victory in Bahrain, Schott now ranks 195th, breaking into the top 200. Nearby on the rankings is Nicolai von Dellingshausen, also from Düsseldorf but originally affiliated with the Golf Club Hubbelrath. Von Dellingshausen currently holds 192nd place and has seen no change from the previous week.
Jäger Also Climbs the World Golf Rankings – Movement at the Top
At the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour, Stephan Jäger launched his comeback on Saturday and secured a tie for 5th place on the final Sunday with 15 under par. The 36-year-old from Munich moved into the top 100 of the Official World Golf Rankings. Jäger climbed 22 places to rank 99th, closely following Germany’s top player, Matti Schmid, who currently holds 98th place and finished T56 at the Farmers Insurance Open. The two players are separated by a margin of just 0.0216 points.
There were also shifts at the top of the Official World Golf Rankings. Englishman Justin Rose’s victory at the Farmers Insurance Open pushed Tommy Fleetwood down from 3rd to 4th place. Rose advanced seven spots, moving from 10th to 3rd in the rankings. Englishman Russell Henley and Scotsman Robert MacIntyre each dropped one position. Justin Rose now ranks behind second-placed Rory McIlroy and the untouchable number 1 Scottie Scheffler, who leads the Northern Irishman by about 8.5 points.
