After strong performances in Bahrain and California, Schott and Jäger climb the world rankings while the top positions shift.
The tournament weekend featuring the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship of the DP World Tour in Bahrain and the Farmers Insurance Open of the PGA Tour in Southern California brought notable movements in the official World Golf Rankings. Following a thrilling finale at the Bahrain Championship, Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf (Düsseldorfer Golf-Club) emerged as the tournament winner.
With his victory, Schott jumped 94 places from 103rd to 9th on the Race to Dubai leaderboard. On the World Golf Rankings, he also surged more than 200 places: at the start of last week, he was ranked 436 and had only improved slightly compared to 2025. After his glorious win in Bahrain, Schott now sits at 195th, within the top 200. Close by in the rankings is Nicolai von Dellingshausen, also from Düsseldorf but originally associated with Golf Club Hubbelrath, currently at 192nd with no change from the previous week.
Jäger also rises on the World Golf Rankings – Movement at the Top
At the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour, Stephan Jäger launched a comeback on Saturday and secured a tied 5th place on Sunday with 15 under par. The 36-year-old from Munich moved into the top 100 of the World Golf Rankings as a result. Gaining 22 places, Jäger now ranks 99th, closely following Germany’s top player Matti Schmid, who finished T56 at the Farmers Insurance Open and is currently ranked 98th, separated by only 0.0216 points.
There was also movement among the top-ranked players. Englishman Justin Rose’s victory at the Farmers Insurance Open saw him jump from 10th to 3rd place, while Tommy Fleetwood slipped from 3rd to 4th. Englishman Russell Henley and Scotsman Robert MacIntyre each dropped one position. Justin Rose is now behind second-placed Rory McIlroy and the untouchable number 1 Scottie Scheffler, who holds about an 8.5 point lead over the Northern Irishman.
