Schott and Jäger Climb the Official World Golf Ranking After Strong Performances

After strong performances in Bahrain and California, Schott and Jäger climb the Official World Golf Ranking as the leaderboard shifts.

Following the tournament weekend featuring the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship of the DP World Tour in Bahrain and the Farmers Insurance Open of the PGA Tour in Southern California, there have been notable changes in the Official World Golf Ranking. After a tense finale at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf (Düsseldorfer Golf Club) secured the tournament victory.

With his win, Schott jumped an impressive 94 places from 103rd to 9th on the Race to Dubai list. He also rose over 200 places in the Official World Golf Ranking: at the start of last week, he was ranked 436th, with minimal improvement compared to his 2025 ranking. After his glorious win in Bahrain, Schott now ranks 195th, placing him comfortably within the top 200. Close by in the ranking is Nicolai von Dellingshausen, who also hails from Düsseldorf but with roots at the Golf Club Hubbelrath, currently positioned at 192nd without changes compared to the previous week.

Jäger Also Climbs the Official World Golf Ranking – Movement at the Top

At the PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open, Stephan Jäger launched a comeback on Saturday and secured a tied 5th place on the leaderboard with 15 under par on the final Sunday. The 36-year-old from Munich moved into the OWGR top 100, climbing 22 places to 99th. He closely trails the top German player, Matti Schmid, currently 98th, who finished tied 56th at the same event. The points difference between them is a mere 0.0216.

The top ranks of the OWGR also saw shifts. With his Farmers Insurance Open victory, Englishman Justin Rose moved up seven spots from 10th to 3rd, pushing Tommy Fleetwood down from 3rd to 4th. Englishman Russell Henley and Scotsman Robert MacIntyre each dropped one place. Justin Rose now stands behind runner-up Rory McIlroy and the untouchable number one Scottie Scheffler, who holds an 8.5-point lead over the Northern Irishman.
