Vijay Singh’s Remarkable Performance at 62 with $71 Million Career Earnings

Financial outlook for Koepka, relief for Faldo, Woods’ celebration, a bold break-in, Daly’s new camping spot. The Back Nine.

Not everyone was happy: Vijay Singh literally pulled the money list tour card, and at the \”tender\” age of 62 – naturally, some voices complained. For example, that the man from Fiji is taking a start place away from those who urgently need tournament participation to secure their livelihood. There is some truth to that, as Singh’s career prize money exceeds $71 million, so he likely doesn’t worry about daily expenses anymore. But the three-time major champion is a sportsman with a strong competitive spirit and a \”training beast,\” wanting to prove himself once more – 24 years after his PGA Tour debut at 29 and with 34 tournament titles. He is enticed by competing against much younger players. Moreover, if the rule about the tour card by career earnings exemption for one season of choice exists…

And Singh made an immediate impact at his Tour return. The veteran qualified for the weekend at the Sony Open with rounds of 68 and 70 strokes. Barely, but still. This makes Singh the oldest player since Fred Couples in 2023 at the Masters to make a cut on the PGA Tour. With his weekend play in Hawaii, Singh achieved the rare feat of making a PGA Tour cut in his fourth decade as a professional. Overall, he has made 506 of 638 cuts in his career and finished tied 40th after further rounds of 68 and 69 strokes at five under par for the tournament.

Koepka Allowed to Compete for FedEx Cup Millions

Another Lex Koepka? The LIV-returnee could earn a significant amount this season. Originally, Brooks Koepka agreed to rejoin the PGA Tour under conditions including donating $5 million to charity, forfeiting shares in the Player Equity Program for five years, and waiving participation in the FedEx Cup bonus pool, which is funded with $40 million in 2026 and awarded at the Tour Championship. However, this bonus was recently deemed official prize money by the Tour. The five-time major winner can now compete for the $10 million winner’s check and other prize money if he qualifies for the season finale at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
