Victor Perez becomes the first French golfer to join Martin Kaymer’s Cleeks Golf Club, replacing Frederik Kjettrup for the 2026 LIV Golf season.
Following Frederik Kjettrup’s departure from the LIV Golf League due to his final standings, Martin Kaymer’s Cleeks Golf Club was left with a vacancy. Speculation surrounded who would fill the spot left by the 25-year-old Dane. Now, the Cleeks GC has announced that 33-year-old Frenchman Victor Perez will join the team, completing the lineup alongside England’s Richard Bland and Poland’s Adrian Meronk.
Since turning professional in 2015, Victor Perez has achieved several international successes. His career highlights include victories at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in 2019, the Dutch Open in 2022, and the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in 2023. He also represented France at the Olympic Games in Paris. Although he didn’t win a medal, Perez was celebrated as a national hero, much like his compatriot Matthieu Pavon. Over the past two years, Perez competed on the PGA Tour but was at risk of losing his card for the 2026 season, sitting at 108th in the FedExCup standings. He was scheduled to play the RSM Classic, the final event of the FedExCup Fall Series, but withdrew following the announcement of his move to LIV Golf.
Victor Perez on joining LIV Golf
“Joining Cleeks Golf Club for 2026 feels like becoming part of the next big chapter in golf,” said Perez. “This team consistently sets new standards, competes at the highest level, and brings fresh energy and a clear vision to the game. The growth of golf is impressive, and LIV Golf’s innovation is driving that momentum. I’m excited to be part of this dynamic and to get started in Riyadh.”
Martin Kaymer welcomes Victor Perez
Cleeks GC captain Martin Kaymer expressed his excitement about the addition of Victor Perez: “There was tremendous interest from players wanting to join Cleeks GC, and we’re thrilled to welcome Victor as the final piece of our roster,” said Kaymer. “As LIV Golf continues to evolve the sport, we’re focused not only on strengthening our team but also on contributing to the development of the next generation of global golf stars and fans. Victor embodies the precision and passion that will drive us forward.”
Victor Perez is the first French player in the LIV Golf League and will make his debut for Cleeks GC at the season opener in Riyadh in February 2026.
