Frenchman Victor Perez replaces Frederik Kjettrup on Martin Kaymer’s Cleeks GC, becoming the first French player in LIV Golf.
After Frederik Kjettrup lost his spot in the LIV Golf League due to his final season ranking, Martin Kaymer’s Cleeks Golf Club was left with a vacancy. Speculation surrounded who would fill the spot, and now the team has confirmed its new addition: 33-year-old Frenchman Victor Perez. He joins Kaymer’s squad alongside England’s Richard Bland and Poland’s Adrian Meronk.
Victor Perez brings a strong international resume since turning professional in 2015. His career highlights include victories at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship (2019), Dutch Open (2022), and Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship (2023). He also represented France at the Paris Olympics, where, despite not medaling, he was celebrated as a national hero alongside compatriot Matthieu Pavon. Most recently, Perez competed on the PGA Tour but was at risk of losing his card for the 2026 season after finishing 108th in the FedExCup standings. He withdrew from the RSM Classic following the announcement of his move to LIV Golf.
Victor Perez: ‘Excited to be part of this momentum’
“Joining the Cleeks Golf Club for 2026 feels like becoming part of the next big chapter in golf,” Perez said. “This team continues to set new standards, compete at the highest level, and bring fresh energy and vision to the game. The growth of golf is impressive, and LIV Golf’s innovation is driving that. I’m excited to be part of this momentum and to get started in Riyadh.”
Martin Kaymer welcomes Perez to LIV Golf
Team captain Martin Kaymer expressed his enthusiasm about the signing: “There was tremendous interest from players wanting to join Cleeks GC, and we’re thrilled to welcome Victor as the final piece of our roster,” he said. “As LIV Golf continues to evolve the sport, we’re focused on strengthening our team and contributing to the development of the next generation of global golf stars and fans. Victor embodies the precision and passion that will drive us forward.”
Victor Perez becomes the first French player in the LIV Golf League and will make his debut for Cleeks GC at the 2026 season opener in Riyadh.
