With a strong team effort and a historic moment by Justin Rose, Los Angeles defeats New York in the Tomorrow Golf League.
On Tuesday at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) featured a match between the New York Jupiter Links Golf Club (with Max Homa, Kevin Kisner, and Akshay Bhatia) and the Los Angeles Golf Club (with Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa, and Sahith Theegala). The match was highlighted by the first albatross in TGL history, achieved by Justin Rose. The Los Angeles Golf Club decisively won the match during the second phase, the singles.
Triples Phase: Early Hammer Gives Los Angeles Lead
During the first phase, known as Triples, Los Angeles threw the first hammer on the second hole, earning two points early on. Jupiter Links responded on the fifth hole with their own hammer securing an important point. Los Angeles extended their lead on the sixth hole and finished the Triples phase with a 4:1 score, benefiting from a penalty stroke taken by the Jupiter team on the final hole of the phase.
In the Singles phase, the momentum continued in favor of Los Angeles. Justin Rose opened the tenth hole (Par 5) with a powerful 300-meter drive onto the fairway. Max Homa from Jupiter Links played a solid, though shorter drive, placing his second shot just short of the green, setting up a chance to regain points for New York.
Historic Moment: Justin Rose Makes TGL’s First Albatross
Justin Rose then stunned the crowd at the tenth hole by scoring the first-ever albatross in TGL history with a 4-iron from 210 meters, thrilling fans and even making Tiger Woods smile, who admitted he never achieved an albatross in his career. This boosted Los Angeles’ lead to 5:1.

On holes twelve and thirteen, Jupiter Links clawed back three points. Kevin Kisner made a par on the twelfth hole after Collin Morikawa took a penalty. Max Homa then secured a birdie and two points with a hammer accepted by the opposing team, tightening the match to 4:5 late into the game.
Closing Stages: Los Angeles Secures the Win
With a hammer still in reserve, Los Angeles used it on the penultimate hole, which Jupiter Links had to accept to remain in the match. Collin Morikawa made par on this hole, sealing the victory for Los Angeles. The New York team failed to recover on the final hole, with the match ending 8:4 in favor of Los Angeles.
