The match was highlighted by the first ever albatross in TGL history. The Los Angeles Golf Club secured a clear win during the second phase of singles matches.
Triples Phase: Early Hammer Puts Los Angeles Ahead
During the triples phase, Los Angeles threw the first hammer on the second hole, earning two points early. Jupiter Links responded with their first hammer on the fifth hole, gaining an important point. Los Angeles extended their lead on the sixth hole and finished the triples phase with a 4:1 lead after Jupiter Links incurred a penalty on the final hole of the phase.
In the singles phase, momentum shifted strongly towards Los Angeles. Justin Rose opened the tenth hole (Par 5) with a solid 300-meter drive. Max Homa played a shorter but solid shot, positioning New York for a potential comeback.

On the tenth hole, Justin Rose made history with an albatross using a 4-iron from 210 meters, a shot that thrilled fans at the SoFi Center. Even Tiger Woods smiled, mentioning he never scored an albatross in his career. This shot increased Los Angeles’s lead to 5:1.

Jupiter Links clawed back three points on the 12th and 13th holes, with Kevin Kisner making par and Max Homa securing a birdie and two points after a hammer shot that Los Angeles accepted. The match became tight again at 5:4.
Final Holes Decide: Los Angeles Seals the Win
Los Angeles saved a hammer and used it on the penultimate hole, forcing New York to accept and stay in the game. Collin Morikawa made a par to clinch the hole and effectively seal the match. The final hole saw no further points for New York, with Los Angeles winning 8:4.
With this victory, the Los Angeles Golf Club moves back into playoff contention with a 1-1-0 record, while Jupiter Links faces their fifth consecutive loss since last season. Jupiter will rest for a week before facing defending champions Atlanta Drive on February 2 at 5 PM
