Historic Albatross by Justin Rose Leads Los Angeles to Victory over Jupiter in TGL

With a strong team performance and a historic moment by Justin Rose, Los Angeles clinches victory over New York in the Tomorrow Golf League.

On Tuesday, at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) match featured the New York Jupiter Links Golf Club (featuring Max Homa, Kevin Kisner, and Akshay Bhatia) against the Los Angeles Golf Club (with Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa, and Sahith Theegala). The match was marked by the first-ever albatross in Tomorrow Golf League history. It was only in the second phase of the match, the Singles, that Los Angeles decisively secured the win.

Triples Phase: Early Hammer Puts Los Angeles Ahead

During the second hole of the first phase, the Triples, Los Angeles threw the first hammer securing two points. On the fifth hole, Jupiter Links responded with their first hammer, earning a crucial point. Los Angeles then extended their lead on the sixth hole. The Triples ended with Los Angeles leading 4:1 after Jupiter Links took a penalty stroke on the final hole of this phase.

In the Singles phase, Los Angeles gained momentum quickly. Justin Rose opened the tenth hole (Par 5) with a strong 300-meter drive. Max Homa of New York also delivered a solid tee shot but shorter. Homa’s second shot landed just short of the green, giving New York a good chance to recover points.

On holes 12 and 13, Jupiter Links clawed back three points. Kevin Kisner made a par on the 12th hole after Collin Morikawa incurred a penalty. Max Homa earned two points for New York with a birdie hammer accepted by Los Angeles, making the score 4:5 and tightening the match near the end.
