TGL Expands: WTGL to Launch LPGA Arena League in Winter 2026

TGL expands with the new WTGL, starting an arena league for LPGA players in late 2026.

The idea has been around for some time and is now official: TGL is getting a sister league. This was confirmed during a press conference by TMRW CEO Mike McCarley and LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler at the SoFi Center in Florida. TGL is entering a new phase, and this time it’s all about the women.

WTGL: Familiar Concept, New Faces

What works for the men is expected to work for women’s golf, so the format remains familiar: two teams, two hours, one match, played in a high-tech setup including simulators, real greens, and shot clocks. The live audience in the arena sees every shot just like viewers at home, with microphones capturing all the action. “It’s about showcasing personality, not just performance,” said McCarley.

A New Stage for Women’s Golf

For the LPGA, the new league is more than just an additional platform. WTGL is not only about adding more playing days. TGL has demonstrated that the arena format reaches new audiences who often only follow traditional tournament golf on the sidelines. Over 40 percent of fans in the first season were between 18 and 49 years old, many without prior golf interest. This reach is now set to benefit women’s golf as well.

Commissioner Craig Kessler, who took office in summer 2025, sees the partnership with TMRW Sports as a strategic move. Fans will have the chance to get to know the players better and experience their stories beyond the scorecard. “We want to create closeness, trust, and put our athletes in the spotlight,” said Kessler. The interest is high: many top players have already signaled enthusiasm, some have even visited the SoFi Center to watch the men’s matches.
