TGL Expands: WTGL Launches LPGA Arena League in Winter 2026

The TGL grows with WTGL, a new arena league for LPGA Tour players launching end of 2026.

The idea has been in the air for some time and is now official: the TGL will get a sister league. What had been hinted at for months was confirmed at a press conference by TMRW CEO Mike McCarley and LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler at the SoFi Center in Florida. The TGL is moving to a new phase, and this time it’s for the women.

WTGL: Familiar Concept, New Faces

What works with the men’s league is set to work in women’s golf as well: two teams, two hours, one match, played in a high-tech setup with simulators, real turf, and shot clock. The audience in the arena sees every shot live, just as viewers at home do. Microphones are also used continuously. “It’s about showing personality, not just performance,” McCarley said.

A New Stage for Women’s Golf

For the LPGA, the new league is more than just an additional platform. The WTGL is not just about more playing days. The TGL has shown that the arena format reaches new audiences who often only marginally follow traditional tournament golf. Over 40 percent of fans in the first season were between 18 and 49 years old, many with no previous connection to golf. This reach is now expected to benefit women’s golf as well.

Commissioner Craig Kessler, in office since summer 2025, sees the partnership with TMRW Sports as a strategic step. Fans should get to know the players better, experience their stories—not just their scorecards. “We want to create closeness, trust, and bring our athletes into the spotlight,” Kessler said. Interest is high: many top players have already expressed interest, with some visiting the SoFi Center to watch the men’s matches.
