TGL Expands: WTGL Brings LPGA Golf to High-Tech Arena in Late 2026

TGL expands with the new WTGL launching an arena league for LPGA players from late 2026.

The idea had been around for some time and is now official: TGL is getting a sister league. What was hinted at for months was confirmed at a press conference by TMRW CEO Mike McCarley and LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler at the SoFi Center in Florida. TGL enters its next phase, this time focused on women’s golf.

WTGL: Familiar Format, New Faces

What works for the men’s league is set to work in women’s golf as well, relying on a familiar format: two teams, two hours, one match, played using a high-tech setup combining simulators, real greens, and a shot clock. The live audience in the arena sees every shot, just like viewers watching on TV. Microphones are again in constant use. “It is about showing personality, not just performance,” said McCarley.

A New Stage for Women’s Golf

For the LPGA, the new league represents more than an additional playing platform. WTGL is not just about more playing days. TGL has shown that the arena format reaches new audiences who often only casually follow traditional tournament golf. Over 40% of fans in the inaugural season were aged 18 to 49, many of whom had no previous connection to golf. This reach is expected to now benefit women’s golf as well.

Commissioner Craig Kessler, in office since summer 2025, sees the partnership with TMRW Sports as a strategic move. Fans will gain a closer connection to the players, experience their stories—not just their scorecards. “We want to create closeness, trust, and highlight our athletes,” said Kessler. Interest is strong: many top players have already expressed enthusiasm, some have even visited the SoFi Center to watch the men’s matches.
