TGL Expands: WTGL Launches LPGA Team Golf Arena in Winter 2026

TGL expands with the new WTGL, launching a team arena golf league for LPGA players starting late 2026.

The idea has been circulating for some time, now it’s official: TGL is getting a sister league. This was confirmed during a press conference by TMRW CEO Mike McCarley and LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler at the SoFi Center in Florida. TGL is entering the next phase and this time it’s for the women.

WTGL: Familiar Concept, Fresh Faces

What works for the men is expected to work for women’s golf as well, with a familiar formula: two teams, two hours, one match, played using a high-tech setup combining simulators, real greens, and a shot clock. The live audience in the arena sees every shot as do viewers at home. The mics are continuously active. “It’s about showing personality, not just performance,” said McCarley.

A New Stage for Women’s Golf

For the LPGA, the new league is more than just additional playing days. WTGL aims to reach new audiences with its arena format, as TGL demonstrated by attracting over 40% of fans aged 18 to 49 in its first season, many previously unaffiliated with golf. This reach will now benefit women’s golf.

Commissioner Craig Kessler, in office since summer 2025, views the partnership with TMRW Sports as a strategic move. Fans should get to know the players personally and experience their stories—not just through the scoreboard. “We want to create closeness, trust, and shine the spotlight on our athletes,” said Kessler. Interest is high, with many top players already showing enthusiasm; some have even visited the SoFi Center to watch the men’s matches.
