TGL Expands: WTGL Brings LPGA Golf to High-Tech Arena in 2026

The TGL grows further with the new WTGL, launching an arena league for LPGA players by late 2026.

The idea has been around for a while, now it’s official: TGL is getting a sister league. What was hinted at for months was confirmed at a press conference by TMRW CEO Mike McCarley and LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler at the SoFi Center in Florida. The TGL is entering its next phase, and this time the focus is on women.

WTGL: Familiar Concept, New Faces

What works for the men is set to work in women’s golf as well, relying on familiar elements: two teams, two hours, one match played in a high-tech setup featuring simulators, real greens, and a shot clock. The live audience in the arena sees every stroke, just like the viewers at home. Microphones capture every sound nonstop. “It’s about showing personality, not just performance,” says McCarley.

A New Stage for Women’s Golf

For the LPGA, the new league is more than just additional play dates. WTGL aims to reach new audiences through the arena format, shown by TGL’s success attracting fans aged 18 to 49—many previously unengaged with golf. This broadened reach is now set to benefit women’s golf as well.

Commissioner Craig Kessler, who took office in summer 2025, views the partnership with TMRW Sports as a strategic step. Fans will get to know the players better and experience their stories—not just scores. “We want to create closeness, trust, and put our athletes in the spotlight,” says Kessler. Interest is strong: many top players have already expressed enthusiasm and some visited the SoFi Center to watch the men’s matches.
