TGL Season 2 Opens with Atlanta vs. New York Rematch

TGL kicks off its second season with a rematch between Atlanta Drive GC and New York Golf Club at the SoFi Center.

The opening match of TGL’s second season brings back the rivalry that defined the end of the inaugural campaign. On December 28, Atlanta Drive GC and New York Golf Club face off once again, reprising their Season 1 final showdown. Atlanta edged out New York in both final matches by a single point and enters the new season as reigning champion. Before the first tee shot, the championship banner will be raised to the rafters, followed by the match in the familiar format featuring Triples and Singles segments. Both teams start with three Hammers, with Atlanta teeing off first. Familiar names headline the lineups: Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Xander Schauffele for New York; Patrick Cantlay, Lucas Glover, and Billy Horschel for Atlanta.

Atlanta Drive GC Returns with Proven Strengths

Atlanta Drive GC enters the new TGL season with strong metrics from last year. The team excelled in Singles play, leading the league in Hammer points. Billy Horschel topped the league in Singles points won, Patrick Cantlay remained undefeated in Singles against New York, and Lucas Glover stood out with a perfect fairway hit rate. New York Golf Club rebounded from an 0–2 start to make the playoffs, with Cameron Young leading all players in total points and showcasing his power off the tee.

New Season, New Course Features

With the new season, TGL introduces updates to the playing surface. The GreenZone has been significantly expanded, allowing for more pin positions and variable putting lines. Additional actuators beneath the turf create adjustable contours, enhancing tactical possibilities. The hole catalog has also been refreshed, featuring new designs like Stone & Steeple, Stinger, and Cenote. Team-themed holes such as Fore-0-Fore for Atlanta and Big Apple for New York round out the 15 specially designed holes.
