TGL: Atlanta Drive GC Extends Winning Streak Against The Bay GC

Atlanta Drive GC wins an exciting TGL match 7-4 against The Bay GC, maintaining their unbeaten streak.

Before the third match of the new TGL season, roles were clearly defined: defending champion Atlanta Drive GC entered the SoFi Center with a victory under their belt, while The Bay Golf Club faced its first outing of the new season. After 15 holes, the final score was 7-4. The team of Billy Horschel, Patrick Cantlay, and substitute Chris Gotterup secured the decisive advantage, as often in singles format, where Atlanta collected four of six possible points. After a balanced start, Atlanta made their move from hole 11 onwards. \”We come in here, train, play our game – it fits,\” said Horschel. Even without the injured Justin Thomas, they performed well, showcasing the team’s depth. This marked their ninth win in the last ten TGL matches – an impressive record.

TGL: Gotterup Brings Atlanta Back Into the Game

For the second consecutive time, Chris Gotterup scored for Atlanta and was again a key factor. After a scoreless start on hole 1, he gave Atlanta the lead on hole 2 with a nearly nine-foot par putt. The Bay responded immediately with hammer plays in the following holes, putting Atlanta behind 1-2. The first clear momentum shift came at hole 6, called \”Alpine.\” After The Bay evened the score, Gotterup made a chip-in eagle, bringing Atlanta back into contention. Although The Bay did not use their hammer, the emotional impact was notable: a tie game. \”I try to see as much as possible on the greens – with all the lighting, it’s not easy,\” Gotterup later explained. \”But when you make those putts, you know what to expect.\”
