TGL: Atlanta Drive GC Extends Winning Streak Against The Bay GC

Atlanta Drive GC wins an exciting TGL match 7-4 against The Bay GC, maintaining their unbeaten streak.

The roles were clearly defined before the third match of the new TGL season: reigning champions Atlanta Drive GC came into the SoFi Center with an opening win, while The Bay Golf Club faced their first outing of the new season. After 15 holes, the final score was 7-4. The decisive lead was secured by the team featuring Billy Horschel, Patrick Cantlay, and substitute Chris Gotterup, especially in the singles format where Atlanta collected four of six possible points. After a balanced start, Atlanta surged from hole 11. \”We come in, train, play our game – it fits,\” said Horschel. Despite the absence of the injured Justin Thomas, the team’s depth shows as they continue strong. This was their ninth win in the last ten TGL matches – an impressive record.

TGL: Gotterup Brings Atlanta Back into the Game

For the second consecutive game, Chris Gotterup scored for Atlanta and was again a key factor. After a scoreless start on hole 1, he put Atlanta ahead with a par putt from just under nine feet on hole 2. The Bay responded immediately with hammer plays on the following holes, putting Atlanta behind 1-2. The first significant momentum shift came on hole 6, \”Alpine,\” where Gotterup chipped in for an eagle to tie the match again. Even though The Bay did not use their hammer there, the emotional boost was noticeable. \”I try to see as much as possible on the greens – with all the lighting it’s not easy,\” Gotterup said later. \”But making those putts lets you know what to expect.\”
