TaylorMade launches the new Qi4D Driver series with four models focused on maximum speed and compatibility. The new driver detailed.
TaylorMade brings fresh momentum and speed with the Qi4D Drivers. Designed for maximum velocity, the new models impress with high aerodynamic efficiency and extensive adjustability. Four distinct models cover different playing and swing types.
New Clubfaces and Aerodynamic Refinements
The Qi4D Drivers are TaylorMade’s fastest and most adaptable drivers so far. At their core are newly developed carbon clubfaces, which generate more efficient ball speed compared to titanium while being more robust and durable. Improved roll radii on the face help reduce variations in spin rate regardless of whether the ball is struck higher or lower on the face.
An advanced Cut-Through Speed Pocket™, developed using finite element analysis (FEA), increases face flexibility in the lower area, creating an extended high-performance zone that stabilizes ball speed in typical impact zones. This is complemented by a corrective face curvature. Additionally, the head aerodynamics have been optimized with finely tuned shapes, smooth transitions, and seamlessly integrated structures to support clean airflow throughout the swing.
TaylorMade Qi4D Drivers: Customization via Shafts and Adjustment Systems
A key feature of the Qi4D series is the high degree of customization. All models come with a 4° loft sleeve enabling adjustments of loft, lie angle, and face angle.
Moreover, specially developed REAX shafts are used, designed for three swing characteristics (Hold, Balance, and Active) and offered in various flex and weight categories. This allows tailoring of even the standard shafts to different player types.
Model Overview: Four Drivers with Distinct Focus Areas
Qi4D
The base model utilizes a quad-weight system with movable TAS weights (9 g x 2 / 4 g x 2). Positioning these weights influences ball speed, stability, forgiveness, and draw or fade tendencies. Heavier weights forward promote higher ball speed, while rear placement enhances stability.
Qi4D LS
The Qi4D LS is designed for maximum speed and very low spin. Numerical fluid simulations optimized the head shape aerodynamically to ensure smooth airflow and clean separation at the clubhead’s rear. Two TAS weights (15 g and 4 g) allow precise adjustment of spin and ball flight.
Qi4D Max
The Qi4D Max focuses on forgiveness without sacrificing speed. Aluminum usage reduces weight and adds extra adjustment options. Two movable TAS weights (13 g and 4 g) enable flexible center of gravity shifts between greater ball speed or enhanced stability.
Qi4D Max Lite
The Qi4D Max Lite adopts the Max model technologies but is designed with a consistent lightweight approach. The head, shaft, and grip are the lightest in the series, aimed at golfers seeking to increase clubhead speed intentionally.
