TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Gen Game-Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons offer distance, forgiveness, and sleek design in a game-improvement package.

TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, a new generation of game-improvement clubs designed to enhance distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, while also addressing aesthetic preferences.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: The Next Generation of Game-Improvement Irons

A key development focus was the clubface. Due to its asymmetrical design with a higher toe than heel, many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly at impact, which can cause additional cut spin and shots drifting right. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a clubface engineered to bend more uniformly, resulting in more stable ball launches, straighter trajectories, and high ball speeds.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements

Besides performance, feel was critical. Both models incorporate a sound stabilizer bar connecting the rear bar to the topline, stabilizing the topline and reducing unwanted noises at impact. Additionally, the ECHO damping material has been extended higher into the clubface to reduce vibrations and produce a solid sound without losing desirable impact feedback. Individually optimized clubfaces and new internal structures further boost speed and consistent distance.

Two Models for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness with a relatively compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset with smooth hosel integration. Using FLTD CG, the center of gravity in long irons is positioned low for high launch and stopping power, while short irons have a higher CG to aid distance control. The 4-8 irons include a Speed Pocket to maintain ball speed on low strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons prioritize maximum forgiveness, offering a larger head profile, higher clubfaces, and thicker soles and toplines for increased stability and confidence. Lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips to benefit players with slower swing speeds by boosting clubhead speed, launch angle, and stopping ability.

New Design for Qi Max and Qi Max HL Irons

Both models sport a bright, monochromatic design inspired by the P-Series. Available in steel at 183 euros per iron and graphite shafts at 200 euros per iron, pre-orders open January 8, 2026, with availability starting January 29, 2026.
