TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Gen Game-Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons deliver distance, forgiveness, and design in a complete package.

TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, representing a new generation of game-improvement irons focused on enhanced distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, catering to both performance and aesthetic needs.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Generation Game-Improvement Irons

A key development feature is the clubface design. Traditionally, game-improvement irons may deform unevenly at impact due to an asymmetrical face with a higher toe than heel, often causing additional cut-spin and shots drifting right when struck toward the toe. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a face engineered to bend more uniformly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter trajectories with high ball speed.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements

Beyond performance, feel was a priority. Both models incorporate a sound stabilization bar linking the rear bar to the topline, stabilizing the topline and reducing unwanted impact noises. Additionally, the ECHO damping material has been repositioned higher into the clubface to reduce vibrations and deliver a solid sound without sacrificing feedback. Individually optimized faces and new internal structures further enhance speed and consistent distance.

Two Designs for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset with a seamless hosel transition. Using FLTD CG technology, the center of gravity in long irons is positioned low to enable high launch and strong stopping power, shifting higher in short irons to aid distance control. From 4 to 8 irons, a Speed Pocket ensures stable ball speeds on low strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons emphasize maximum forgiveness with larger head profiles, higher faces, and wider soles and toplines, enhancing stability and confidence. Their lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, pairing lightweight heads, shafts, and grips to benefit players with slower swing speeds by improving clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping ability.

New Design and Availability

Both models feature a bright, monochrome design inspired by the P-Series. Available as steel irons at €183 per club and graphite shaft models at €200 per club, pre-orders begin January 8, 2026, with retail availability from January 29, 2026.
