TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Gen Game-Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons offer a full package of distance, forgiveness, and design. Details on the latest game-improvement irons.

TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, presenting a new generation of game-improvement irons focused on performance improvements in distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, while also addressing aesthetic aspects.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation of Game-Improvement Irons

A key development aspect was the clubface. Due to its asymmetrical construction with a higher toe than heel, many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly at impact, often causing additional cut spin and shots to the right when struck near the toe. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a clubface designed to bend more uniformly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter flights with high ball speed.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements

Beyond performance, feel was important. Both models integrate a sound-stabilizing bar connecting the back bar to the topline, stabilizing the topline and reducing unwanted noises at impact.

The ECHO damping material has been moved higher into the clubface, reducing vibrations and producing a solid sound without losing desired feedback at impact. Individually optimized clubfaces and new internal structures further support speed and consistent distance.

Two Options for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset with the head transitioning seamlessly into the hosel. Using FLTD CG, the center of gravity in long irons is deep to promote a high launch with good stopping power, while moving higher in short irons to help with distance control. The Speed Pocket in irons 4-8 maintains ball speed on low strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons focus on maximum forgiveness, featuring larger heads, higher clubfaces, thicker soles, and toplines for increased stability and confidence. With lofts 3° weaker than the Qi Max and ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips, they benefit slower swingers by improving clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping ability.

New Design for Qi Max and Qi Max HL Irons

Both irons come in a bright, monochromatic design inspired by the P-Series. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons are available in steel for 183 euros per iron and graphite shaft for 200 euros per iron. Pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with availability from January 29, 2026.
