TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Gen Game-Improvement Irons

Discover the new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons designed for distance, forgiveness, and sleek design.

TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, representing a new generation of game-improvement clubs focused on enhanced distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel while also appealing aesthetically.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation Game-Improvement Irons

A key development focus was the clubface. Many game-improvement irons have asymmetrical faces with a higher toe than heel, causing uneven deformation at impact that can result in extra cut-spin and shots drifting right. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL feature a clubface engineered to bend more uniformly, resulting in more stable ball flights and straighter trajectories with high ball speeds.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements

Beyond performance, feel was crucial. Both models integrate a sound stabilization bar connecting the back bar with the topline to reduce unwanted impact noises. Additionally, the ECHO damping material has been positioned higher in the face to reduce vibrations, delivering a solid sound without compromising feedback at impact. Custom-optimized faces and new internal structures further boost speed and consistent distance.

Two Designs Tailored to Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a compact design featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and reduced offset with a seamless hosel connection. FLTD CG technology places a low center of gravity in long irons for high launch and stopping power, shifting higher in short irons to aid distance control. The Speed Pocket in irons 4-8 helps maintain ball speed on low-face strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons focus on maximum forgiveness, featuring larger heads, higher faces, wider soles, and thicker toplines for enhanced stability and confidence. Their lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips to benefit players with slower swing speeds, improving clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping power.

New Design and Availability

Both models sport a bright, monochrome design inspired by the P-Series. Available in steel at €183 per iron and graphite at €200, pre-orders begin January 8, 2026, with availability in stores from January 29, 2026.
