TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Gen Game-Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons offer distance, forgiveness, and modern design for golfers seeking enhanced performance.

TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, representing a new generation of game-improvement irons focused on boosting distance, forgiveness, as well as sound and feel, while also addressing aesthetic needs.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: The Next Generation of Game-Improvement Irons

A key development focus was the clubface. Typically, game-improvement irons with an asymmetrical face design tend to bend unevenly on impact, often producing extra cut spin and shots drifting right. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a redesigned face that flexes more uniformly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter ball flights with high ball speeds.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements

Beyond performance, feel was crucial. Both models include a sound-stabilizing bar connecting the back bar to the top edge, stabilizing the topline and reducing unwanted noise on impact. Additionally, the ECHO damping material was moved higher in the face to reduce vibrations and produce a solid sound without losing feel feedback. Individually optimized faces and new internal structures further enhance speed and consistent distance.

Two Designs for Different Player Needs

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset with a seamless hosel transition. The FLTD CG positions the center of gravity low in long irons for high launch and stopping power, shifting higher in short irons for better distance control. Speed Pockets in irons 4-8 help maintain ball speed on low strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons focus on maximum forgiveness, boasting larger clubheads, taller faces, wider soles, and thicker toplines to boost stability and confidence. Their lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips, ideal for players with slower swing speeds seeking increased clubhead speed, launch angle, and stopping power.

New Design and Availability

Both irons showcase a bright, monochromatic design inspired by the P-Series. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons are available with steel shafts at 183 euros per iron and graphite shafts at 200 euros per iron. Pre-orders open January 8, 2026, with availability in stores starting January 29, 2026.
