The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons deliver distance, forgiveness, and sleek design in a complete game-improvement package.
TaylorMade presents the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, introducing a new generation of game-improvement clubs focused on enhanced distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, while also appealing to aesthetic preferences.
TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Generation Game-Improvement Irons
A key development feature centers around the clubface design. Traditionally asymmetrical with a higher toe than heel, many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly at impact. This can lead to additional cut-spin and shots veering right when struck near the toe. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a face designed to flex more uniformly, resulting in more stable ball launch, straighter flight, and high ball speed.
Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements
Beyond performance, feel was a priority in both models. Each incorporates a sound stabilizing bar connecting the rear bar to the topline, enhancing topline stability and minimizing unwanted impact noises. Additionally, the ECHO damping system material has been positioned higher in the face to reduce vibrations and produce a solid sound without sacrificing feedback at impact. Customized face optimizations and new internal structures further boost speed and consistent distance.
Two Options for Different Player Types
The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade length, and reduced offset as the head blends seamlessly into the hosel. Utilizing FLTD CG, the center of gravity in long irons is set particularly low to promote high launch and strong stopping power, shifting higher in short irons to support distance control. The Speed Pocket in irons 4 through 8 maintains ball speeds on low-face hits.
The Qi Max HL irons focus on maximum forgiveness, with larger head profiles, taller faces, and thicker soles and toplines for enhanced stability and confidence. The lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, paired with ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips to benefit players with slower swing speeds by improving clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping ability.
Sleek New Design for Qi Max and Qi Max HL
Both iron models showcase a bright, monochromatic design inspired by the P-Series. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons are available in steel shafts for €183 per iron and graphite shafts for €200 per iron. Pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with availability in stores from January 29, 2026.
