TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Gen Game-Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons offer distance, forgiveness, and sleek design in one complete package.

TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, representing the next generation of game-improvement clubs designed for enhanced distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, addressing both performance and aesthetic needs.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation Game-Improvement Irons

A key focus during development was the clubface. Many game-improvement irons feature an asymmetrical face with a higher toe than heel, often causing uneven face flex at impact and resulting in additional cut-spin and shots veering right on toe strikes. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a redesigned face that flexes more evenly, promoting more stable ball launches and straighter trajectories with high ball speed.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Innovations

Beyond performance, sound and feel were critical. Both models integrate a sound-stabilizing bar connecting the back bar to the topline, stabilizing the topline and reducing unwanted noise at impact. Additionally, the ECHO damping material has been repositioned higher in the clubface to reduce vibrations while preserving solid feedback. Optimized faces and internal structures further enhance speed and consistent distance.

Two Models for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset with a seamless hosel transition. The FLTD CG technology positions a low center of gravity in long irons for high launch and strong stopping power, shifting higher in short irons to aid distance control. Speed Pocket technology in irons 4-8 supports ball speed on lower strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons focus on maximum forgiveness with larger clubheads, higher faces, and thicker soles and toplines for added stability and confidence. Their lofts are 3° weaker than Qi Max irons and combined with ultralight heads, shafts, and grips, they benefit players with slower swing speeds by increasing clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping power.

New Design for the Qi Max and Qi Max HL Irons

Both models feature a bright, monochromatic design inspired by the P-Series. They are available with steel shafts at €183 per iron and graphite shafts at €200 per iron. Pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with retail availability from January 29, 2026.
