EURO 2024: Harry Kane Shows Off Skills on Driving Range

Drives with Harry: The content shared by the English FA’s social media team during the European Football Championship is somewhat entertaining – certainly more entertaining than the Three Lions’ performances so far at this EURO 2024. It is even more worth watching when one of the good golfers in the team appears in front of the camera, of which there are quite a few, and shows off his skills.

England’s Harry Kane on the Driving Range

First and foremost, of course, is captain Harry Kane, who presenter Josh Denzel takes to the driving range of the Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land in Blankenhain, Thuringia, where the English lions have set up their team base camp in this episode of “Lion’s Den”:

Captain Kane also showed his skills, albeit very late, in last night’s 2:1 win after extra time in the round of 16 match against Slovakia. After all, with the winning goal in the first minute of extra time, the goalscorer fulfilled the golf oracle in Weimarer Land, who had predicted England’s victory with a putt:

Harry Kane impresses with an “unbelievable” trick shot

What a feat from Harry Kane! If a new video is to be believed, the FC Bayern Munich player doesn’t just have an excellent feel for the ball. As part of a collaboration between Kane and supplier Reflo, the 30-year-old showed off as yet unknown talents.

Harry Kane launches new partnership with circus act

Although the Three Lions captain is known for his love of golf, few fans would have thought that his passion would take on such proportions. The video was made to mark Harry Kane’s new role as ambassador and investor of Reflo. Founded in 2021, the wearing brand prides itself on its strong focus on sustainability. Kane’s performance in the video also made a lasting impression, with the Englishman seemingly suspending the rules of physics. Whether everything is above board is up to you to decide.

Euro 2024: Three Lions will stay at luxury golf resort in East Germany

Gareth Southgate, boss of the Three Lions, confirmed that the team around Harry Kayne will have their training base at the state of Thuringia during the 2024 European Championships next summer. At the Spa and GolfResort Weimarer Land in Blankenhain, the team want to forget the result of the last Euro and make it better this time. The spacious hotel complex around 30 kilometres from Erfurt, Thuringia’s state capital, will lay the foundations for success at the European Championships. It’s not just Southgates’ team that will be guests in Thuringia next year.

Three Lions: Perfect place for Harry Kane?

The Three Lions and Bayern player Harry Kane are staying at the golfresort during the tournament (14.06 – 14.07). For Kane, a keen golfer on the team, this should be good place to calm down between the games. The top-ranked english team is regarded as one of the top favourites for the tournament. They lost to Italy on penalties in the home final of the 2021 European Football Championship at Wembley Stadium. Now they want to do better. At the gates of the historic city of Weimar, the extensive course offers two 18-hole courses. One of the two is the hilly Goethe Course, which is dedicated to Johann Wolfgang Goethe, the famous poet and face of the city of Weimar. The hotel opened in May 2013 and offers 94 rooms and suites.

EM 2024: German Team of Julian Nagelsmann is also a guest

The Three Lions and their captain Harry Kane, are part of Group C including Slovenia, Denmark and Serbia. The host of the Euro 2024 will also be a guest in Thuringia. But the German national team and their coach Julian Nagelsmann will only stay for a few days at the end of May to prepare for the tournament at home. The opening match of the European Championship will take place on June 14th in Munich between Germany and Scotland. Ten stadiums in total, such as the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, will be part of the Euro 2024 in Germany.

Harry Kane replaces Thomas Müller as FC Bayern’s best golfer

Thomas Müller in particular should be extremely pleased about the spectacular transfer of English superstar Harry Kane to FC Bayern. Müller, who is known for his passion for golf, will probably not only provide the perfect templates for the new star striker on the football field in the near future, but will probably also enjoy one or two rounds of golf together with him. With the signing of Harry Kane, FC Bayern has not only gained one of the most outstanding goal scorers of the last ten years, but also brought a virtuoso golfer into the team. With a handicap of 0, Kane even puts the experienced golfer Müller in the shade.

Harry Kane: Golfer by Passion

Kane first ventured onto the golf course at the age of six or seven, but his involvement at that time remained rather modest. The true passion for golf only ignited in Kane at the age of 17 or 18. During one summer, he deliberately refrained from travelling and instead devoted himself to golf every day for five weeks. During this period, his handicap dropped from 18 to about 10, and from then on, his enthusiasm for the sport grew inexorably year by year. He began to follow golf on television, with Tiger Woods in particular inspiring him.

Nowadays, Harry Kane presents himself with an impressive handicap of zero. As a member of Wentworth Golf Club as well as Beaverbrook Golf Club in Surrey, he has made two renowned golf courses his sporting home. During his time at Tottenham Hotspurs, he often played with teammate Eric Dier. Now in Munich, he has probably already found a new playing partner in Thomas Müller, who will keep him company on the golf course. Since Müller is also a regular guest at the Pro-Am of the BMW International Open, fans may soon be able to admire Harry Kane’s golf game at the Munich-Eichenried Golf Club.

Golfing with Tiger Woods not a dream for Harry Kane

Harry Kane has already experienced several things in his golf career that remain a lifelong dream for most golfers. In 2017, the Englishman had the honour of playing four holes with golf legend Tiger Woods in the Bahamas, an experience he still looks back on with great pleasure. The list of golf courses on which the striker has already played reads like a poem: Augusta National, St. Andrews Old Course, Kingsbarns, Loch Lomond and many more. So it’s no wonder that golf has become a real passion for Kane.

Kane is well aware of his strengths on the golf course. The 1.88 metre tall attacker cites long tee shots as his greatest weapon and estimates that he can keep up with many professionals in this respect. But power is not his only expertise – his precise short game, especially when chipping, is testament to his remarkable talent. Striving for consistent performance on the golf course is a major driving force for Kane. But unlike on the football pitch, performance and perfection are not the only things that count for the 30-year-old when it comes to golf. For him, it is a way to enjoy the moment, switch off and leave the stress of everyday life behind. While he is on the golf course, he can focus on having a good time without the pressure he might feel on the football field.

In a golf challenge, Harry Kane has even taken on Tommy Fleetwood. A good opportunity to watch the new Bavarian play golf.
