Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land: A Sanctuary That Leaves Nothing to Desire

Nestled in Germany’s green heart of Thuringia, the splendid Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land offers exceptional hospitality. A third golf course is coming soon.

Every room breathes the spirit of its owners. Rarely is the personal touch of the proprietors so clearly felt as in the Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land. Located just 20 minutes by car from the cultural city of Weimar, the Grafe family has created a refuge where even the smallest detail reflects their commitment to quality and style.

A Unique Touch of Personal Hospitality

This personal hospitality shapes the atmosphere throughout the resort: from the 94 hotel rooms and suites and seven family units, through the LindenSpa, which was expanded in 2023 to 3,000 square meters with high-end wellness offerings, to the seven restaurants now housed on-site.

Seven Restaurants, Two Michelin Stars

The Masters restaurant led by Executive Chef Danny Schwabe and The First by Marcello Fabbri have each held a Michelin star for several years, offering French and Italian-inspired haute cuisine, making the Weimarer Land a culinary rarity. The Güldene Zopf in nearby Blankenhain features traditional Thuringian specialties. Additionally, the resort hosts the annual Culinary Open in January, a walking dinner that gathers Michelin-star chefs each year.

Goethe and Feininger Courses: 18 Holes Each

Originally designed by project architect Achim Reinmuth of Städler & Reinmuth Golf Design, the resort’s first 18-hole golf course, now called Bobby Jones Champion Course, is nestled in Thuringia’s lovely landscape, once roamed by the German poet Goethe. By 2012, the course was divided into two loops: the wooded and artfully bunkered Goethe Course (5,971 meters, Par 72) set in the scenic Weimar hills, and the generally flat Feininger Course (5,707 meters, Par 71) featuring numerous water hazards and challenging greens. The original layout (6,280 meters, Par 73) remains as a basis for major tournaments.

The resort also features the charming ‘GolfHütte’ with golf reception, pro shop, and dining facilities, plus the ‘Champions Dinner Hall’, family apartments, and other amenities, all designed to appear historic yet modern, opened in 2013.

Alongside golf, the Königin Louise 9-hole course and the Luke Ross Hall with three Trackman simulators offer additional golf enjoyment. The facility also includes a riding stable and FIFA-standard soccer training fields, attracting top football clubs such as Queens Park Rangers and Glasgow Rangers for training camps, with plans to host more teams including during EURO 2024.
