Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land: A Refined Retreat with Upcoming Third Golf Course

This splendid resort in the green heart of Thuringia, Germany, is the pinnacle of luxury. A third golf course is soon to open.

Every space breathes the spirit of its owners. Rarely is the personal touch of the owners as clearly felt as at the Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land, located just 20 minutes by car from the cultural cities of Weimar and its Bauhaus heritage. The Grafe family has established a refuge where even the smallest detail reflects their high standards and style.

A Distinctive Note of Personal Hospitality

This personal hospitality characterizes the entire resort: from 94 rooms and suites and seven family residences to the LindenSpa, expanded in 2023 to 3,000 square meters with high-end wellness offerings, to the seven restaurants now available on-site.

Seven Restaurants, Two Michelin Stars

The resort features two Michelin-starred restaurants: The Masters led by Executive Chef Danny Schwabe offers French-inspired haute cuisine, and The First by Marcello Fabbri showcases Italian influences, making Weimarer Land unique gastronomically. The nearby town’s Güldene Zopf specializes in traditional Thuringian dishes. Each January, the Culinary Open Walking Dinner gathers renowned star chefs.

Goethe and Feininger Courses with 18 Holes Each

Project architect Achim Reinmuth originally designed the 18 holes of what is now the Bobby Jones Champion Course in the picturesque Thuringian landscape once walked by the German poet Goethe. By 2012, two 18-hole courses—the wooded and well-bunkered Goethe Course (5,971 meters, Par 72) and the flatter Feininger Course (5,707 meters, Par 71) with water hazards and challenging greens—were completed. The original 6,280-meter, Par 73 course remains for major tournaments.

Additional facilities include the 9-hole Königin Louise Course and an indoor golf hall with three Trackman simulators. Beyond golf, the resort hosts FIFA-standard football training fields, having accommodated teams such as Werder Bremen, Queens Park Rangers, and the English national team during EURO 2024. The resort aims to promote both golf and hospitality through this synergy.

The family’s vision continues with plans for a third 18-hole golf course on 110 hectares of forested land, currently in the approval process, making the Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land a uniquely comprehensive golf destination in the region.
