Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land: A Haven That Leaves Nothing to Desire

Nestled in Germany’s green heart of Thuringia, the Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land is a premier retreat with a third golf course soon to come.

It is said that every space breathes the spirit of its owner. Rarely is the signature of a living space’s owners so palpable as in the Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land. Located just 20 minutes by car from the cultural city of Weimar, famous for Goethe, Schiller, and the Bauhaus, the Grafe family has created a refuge where even the smallest detail reflects the founders’ dedication to quality and style.

A Special Touch of Personal Hospitality

This personal hospitality shapes the entire resort’s atmosphere: from the 94 rooms and suites in the hotel and seven residential units in the family building to the LindenSpa, which was expanded in 2023 to 3,000 square meters with high-end wellness offerings, and the seven restaurants now part of the resort.

Seven Restaurants, Two Michelin Stars

The Masters restaurant, led by Executive Chef Danny Schwabe, and The First by Marcello Fabbri, each boast a Michelin star for their French and Italian-inspired haute cuisine, respectively, making Weimarer Land quite unique. The Güldene Zopf in the nearby town of Blankenhain focuses on traditional Thuringian specialties. Each January, the resort hosts the Culinary Open, a walking dinner event attracting acclaimed Michelin chefs annually.

Goethe and Feininger Courses with 18 Holes Each

Project architect Achim Reinmuth of Städler & Reinmuth Golf Design initially designed the original 18-hole golf course, now called the Bobby Jones Champion Course, nestled in the charming landscape of Thuringia, once roamed by Germany’s literary legend Goethe 200 years ago. By 2012, the course expanded into two distinct loops: the wooded, artfully bunkered Goethe Course (5,971 meters, par 72) in the Weimar hill landscape and the flatter Feininger Course (5,707 meters, par 71) featuring numerous water hazards and tricky greens. The original course (6,280 meters, par 73) remains an essential layout, primarily used for major tournaments.

Alongside these, the Königin Louise 9-hole Course and the Luke Ross Hall with three Trackman simulators complete the golf experience. Additionally, the resort includes the Gut Krakau equestrian facility and football training grounds built to FIFA standards.

The resort spans 450 hectares, including 110 hectares of forest, combining golf, sports, wellness, and culinary excellence. The LindenSpa features indoor and outdoor pools, whirlpools, a fitness center, treatment rooms, and a sauna complex with six saunas. The football facilities have already hosted teams such as Queens Park Rangers and Glasgow Rangers, and during the UEFA EURO 2024, the English national team used the resort as their base camp.

The Grafe family continues to invest in the future and summer tourism, with a regional partnership between the State of Thuringia and the
