Rory McIlroy’s Record-Breaking 2025: Trophies and $36M in Earnings

Rory McIlroy had a career-defining 2025, winning major titles and collecting over $36 million in prize money.

Rory McIlroy will never forget 2025. The Northern Irishman kicked off the year with a win at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, followed by a thrilling victory at The Players Championship. In April, he finally captured the elusive Masters title, completing the Career Grand Slam—an achievement only a select few golfers have ever reached. He also claimed a dramatic win at his home tournament, the Amgen Irish Open, and helped Team Europe secure its first away Ryder Cup victory since 2012. It was nearly a perfect year for McIlroy, both in terms of trophies and financial rewards. Let’s take a closer look at his 2025 prize money earnings.

Rory McIlroy earns over $13 million by April

McIlroy’s year started strong. At just his second tournament of the season, he won the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which included a hole-in-one, earning $3.6 million. After a few more solid performances that added nearly $1 million to his total, he triumphed at The Players Championship, defeating J.J. Spaun in a playoff for a $4.5 million payday. Then came the Masters in April, where McIlroy fulfilled a lifelong dream by winning and completing the Career Grand Slam. That victory not only brought him $4.2 million but also pushed his total prize money past $13 million before the end of April. The Masters win also made him only the second player in PGA Tour history—after Tiger Woods—to surpass $100 million in career earnings.

Bonus payouts boost McIlroy’s total earnings

While the rest of his PGA Tour season didn’t match the explosive start, McIlroy still managed a T2 finish at the Genesis Scottish Open and earned another $3.6 million from various events. Thanks to his consistent performance, he finished second in the Comcast Business Tour standings, adding $6 million in bonus money. His T12 at the BMW Championship and T23 at the Tour Championship brought in over $800,000, and he secured another $7.5 million for finishing second in the FedEx Cup. His win at the Irish Open added $1 million more, and his performances in Abu Dhabi and the DP World Tour Championship, along with winning the Race to Dubai, brought in over $3 million.

In total, Rory McIlroy closed out his magical 2025 season with multiple trophies, a green jacket, a Ryder Cup victory, and more than $36 million in prize money.
