As the first tee times are announced at the Farmers Insurance Open, all eyes turn once again to Torrey Pines – one of the most iconic venues on the PGA Tour. The challenging South Course with its long par-4 holes, narrow fairways, and notorious greens stands as a true test, while the slightly shorter North Course seems more scorable but also offers no gifts. This combination results each year in a top-class field and early sporting excitement.
From a German perspective, the tournament kickoff is particularly interesting: Stephan Jäger, Thomas Rosenmüller, Matti Schmid, and Jeremy Paul are set to start. Jäger and Rosenmüller have the chance for an aggressive start on the North Course, while Schmid faces strong international competition on the South Course.
Brooks Koepka’s Comeback on the PGA Tour
Another big topic is the comeback of Brooks Koepka on the PGA Tour. The multiple major winner tees off alongside Ludvig Åberg and Max Homa on the South Course – a group likely to draw early tournament and fan attention. Koepka’s return adds extra star power to an already high-caliber field, making the Farmers Insurance Open even more exciting.
